Sarah Epperson and her parentsWho is Sarah?

7-year-old Sarah Epperson is the inspiration behind the annual Strides for Sarah Run/Walk, now in its 5th year. Sarah was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a rare connective tissue disorder, in 2009. Later that year, her family initiated the first Strides for Sarah event and it has since become a local tradition. Sarah helps her family organize the event, including picking the event colors each year. This year it's magenta!
